Pastor & Staff

Pastor - Brian L. Pullin

Born in Pascagoula, MS, Brian lived his entire adolescent life in the Blue Crab town. In 1998, Brian graduated with his B/A in Religion from William Carey University. After spending several years as a Youth Director in another denomination, Brian was hired by St. Paul UMC, as Youth Director. It is here that he was genuinely moved by the Holy Spirit, once he discovered the writings of John Wesley.

In 2013, Brian graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary with his MDIV. Currently, Brian is a local pastor in the MS Annual Conference; and he is in process as a candidate for ordination. In the summer of 2020, Brian was appointed to Wesley UMC; and we are currently experiencing a season of renewal that can only be explained as the work of God within our midst.

Brian has been married to Christina for 22 years; they have two daughters: Kenna (18) and Molly Jo (16). In addition they have two other family members: Bajo is their 11 year old, two pound terror of a dog; and Sandy is their 2 year old, COVID rescue dog – she is a Blue Heeler mix and the most perfect dog you could ever meet.

At Wesley UMC, we are currently in a season of clarification. Our three main focuses for 2022 are Worship, Growth Groups, and our Grand Families Ministry. You are invited to join us where you will be welcomed and encouraged to seek God’s call and sanctification in your life.

Worship Leader - Nate Lyon

Hey all! My name is Nate - I'm 22 years old, and I'm currently student-teaching at Gulfport High School as a final prerequisite towards receiving my Bachelor's Degree in Music Education this fall! After I receive my degree, I have yet to decide on what I'd like to do. I may head straight into teaching, I may choose graduate school, or I may want to attend seminary school! At the moment, I'm keeping my options open and doing my best to follow God's plan for me. I've led worship at Diamondhead United Methodist church for about three years now, and I have led the youth there for about two years. During this time, I've come to realize that I am called to be in ministry at least part-time for the rest of my life! One of the things I enjoy doing the most when I've got a lot of time on my hands is traveling! I've visited places like Germany, Austria, Switzerland, South Korea, and many others - some that have quite literally left me speechless. There's nothing like experiencing first-hand some of God's most breathtaking creations. I am extremely fascinated with pretty much anything space-related, so don't start a conversation with me on that subject unless you plan to hear me babble for half an hour! At home during my free time, I am likely in scripture, practicing music, working on student-teacher related assignments, or I'm sleeping! I've discovered that sleep is becoming more rare, so I've been slowly moving my bedtime just a few minutes earlier each night.. If there was more time in the day, I would probably choose to read more! I miss it, but I never seem to have the time anymore. I love making new friends and I hope that you come and say hello!

Office Administrator - Rita Robinson

Wesley United Methodist Church is an energetic body of Christ which makes for a busy workplace. I have had the privilege of being a part of this excitement and ministry for many years. While serving in the church office, I have had the advantage of working alongside those individuals who make up this family; and provide assistance to those who support the mission of the church, which is to “Bring people to Christ, and together Become the light of God’s love, to Serve our community and the world.”

Whatever the task at hand, it is my desire to do it all wholeheartedly unto the Lord. God has rewarded these efforts in so many ways. The relationships that have been forged, along with the prayers and support of my Wesley family throughout the years, have been exceptional. I look forward to continuing to serve God and the faithful people of this congregation in whatever way the Lord leads.
